The charitable foundation offers donations and grant making in two key areas. Use the form below to initially make a request, or to reach out for further discussion. Once a request is received, a member of the foundation will be in touch to discuss with you how we can help. Should you need further information, simply email office[at]glennmurphyfoundation.org . Before using the form, please consider the two areas below to help you understand the criteria for making a request.
The criteria below is strictly adhered to, those factors listed as desirable will add additional emphasis to your request - Every request is decided on a case by case basis.
Early Charity Development:
Aims:
- To help develop new and emerging charities with a financial contribution.
- To provide logistical or operational support to developing and charities starting up.
Essential criteria:
- A UK based charity, with less than three years of operation, since registration with the UK Charities Commission.
- Donation expectation from £100 to £5000.
Desirable factors and helpful guidance:
- Newly registered charities seeking financial support to launch, may receive donations in the region of £100 to £1000 with less due diligence.
- Charities not yet initiated (e.g. not registered with the UK Charities Commission), can receive support, but this will be on a case by case basis and require greater due diligence.
- Additional consideration will be given to charities in west London, and the greater London area.
- Charities that have a focus on educational development for individuals aged between 21 to 25 are of particular interest, as well as those that are demonstrably delivering a local community benefit.
- Charities that focus on improving social mobility.
Philanthropy of the arts, supporting cultural heritage and the sciences:
Aims:
- To support the arts and cultural heritage through one-off donations.
- To support the sciences, especially in sectors less widely supported, through one-off charitable grants.
Essential criteria:
- A registered UK based charity, naturally this can be a charitable arm of an organisation, such as, a museum/gallery or a scientific research arm, such as muscular degeneration, these are examples only.
- The charity shall have an annual operating income/spending of £30,000 to £750,000.
- Desired donations or grants may range from £5000 to £125,000.
Desirable factors and guidance:
- Expectations of grants or donations above £125,000+ are unlikely to be supported, however we are open to part funding with another charity/foundation, and if there is synergy we may look to those working in partnership with ourselves.
- Special consideration will be given to charitable organisations in west London, and the greater London area.
All requests will be considered and responded to within 28 days and always on a case by case basis. All requests that proceed will be subject to further due diligence, the time-frames for this will depend on both parties and can be discussed once the initial request is received and reviewed. No receiving charity will be expected to advertise receipt of a donation from The Glenn Murphy Charitable Foundation, or display a logo, or be obligated to promote the foundation. In this same context The Glenn Murphy Charitable Foundation will not seek to advertise the receiving charity in any correspondence, advertising or explicit material without mutual consent. Funds received from The Glenn Murphy Charitable Foundation are considered effectively 'pro-bono publico', as both parties agree and understand, under the laws and jurisdiction of the United Kingdom.
